Ceylinco Life Chairman R. Renganathan and Managing Director Thushara Ranasinghe were joined by directors of the Company last week at the laying of the foundation stone for the new eco-friendly 8,500 square-foot edifice at No. 293, Point Pedro Road, Nelliady.

Another five-storey building providing 20,000 square feet of purpose-designed office space is currently under construction at No 37, Kanathiddy Road, Jaffna and will be Ceylinco Life’s second building at that particular location.

The new branch building at Nelliady is designed for optimal use of natural light and is entirely solar powered. It is to be equipped with the latest energy-efficient lighting and air conditioning systems and will have its own rainwater harvesting facility.

To be built to the eco-friendly specifications adopted by Ceylinco Life for all new branches on company-owned land, the Nelliady branch will have its own car park and a multi-function room that can be used for training up to 30 people at a time, the company said. It is to be completed in 12 months.
