The remittances service at Cargills Bank has shown a rapid growth in business in 2018 with the implementation of their expansion drive along with the promotional offers to beneficiaries in Sri Lanka. The bank has currently partnered with leading international money transfer companies such as Transfast, TransferTo, Xpress Money, Al Ansari Exchange (Cash Express), Ria, Kapruka, Instant Cash, Quicksend, and Crosspay to offer a wider choice of partners for beneficiaries.

In further adding value to their customers, the bank launched a new rewarding scheme from April-July 2018 for beneficiaries collecting remittance across the island, to select a winner every week, whom will be rewarded with a Rs. 5,000 worth voucher redeemable at any Cargills Food City, KFC and TGIF.

Cargills Bank Manager – Remittances Kithmini Kumaranayake said, “Our motive is to support the growing demand for both cash and digital remittances among Sri Lankan diaspora and their recipients through a larger channel network and partners. In addition to our current promotion of selecting weekly winners, we have also introduced a further 5% discount for beneficiaries on their grocery bill when they collect their remittance money at Cargills Food City. These offerings would entice beneficiaries to collect their remittance and then buy goods at the same Cargills Food City outlet paving them to save their valuable time. Our overall commitment is to provide the community at large an opportunity to experience the convenience of collecting remittances and banking at your convenience while shopping,” he added.

Cargills Bank Head of Retail Banking Buddhika Perera said, “We started our remittance operations just three years back and we are delighted to witness how the expansion of our agent network and having Cargills Food City chain as the main channel for collection of remittance money have strengthen our service among the community. Our objective is to support the people particularly in the rural and remote areas and being able to offer the convenience of having a 350+ channel network, accessible every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a further point of sales discount of 5% on their grocery bill portrays the convenience and added value granted through our remittance service.”
