Sharing his thoughts about the win, CDB General Manager (Emergent Business Information Technology) Imdaad Naguib said: “We are moving forward one step at a time in a very steady, successful pace. CDB without a doubt is one of the most innovative and successful NBFI (Non-Banking Financial Institution) in Sri Lanka, providing exceptional products and services with an extensive branch network across the Island. Winning the title as the ‘Best Social Media Initiative of the Year, Sri Lanka’ for CDB iTransfer, the only social media fund transfer feature in the country that can receive funds via any social media messaging platform, establishes CDB’s purpose of ‘empowering aspirations’ with new technology and commitment. We are extremely proud of this win and hope to continue on this winning streak in the years to come.”
The entry and evaluation process for the awards was formulated by an established panel of judges and experts in the banking and finance industry across Asia Pacific. Each participating organisation was to bring forth their innovative solutions and case studies under the specific categories to be eligible for an award. Team CDB won the title as a result of hard work and dedication towards becoming the number one NBFI in Sri Lanka.
This year’s ceremony was held at Shangri-La Singapore in the presence of more than 300 senior executives from the banking finance industry across Asia Pacific, where over 100 banking institutions representing 37 countries were recognised for excellence.
