Bank of Ceylon recently won three awards at the premier corporate citizenship awards, Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2022 (BCCS Awards) organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
The BCCS Awards held for the 19th consecutive year is one of the most anticipated events on the corporate calendar. The annual award ceremony brings the spotlight on sustainability champions in the national corporate arena with a view to promote corporate citizen sustainability ownership and initiatives that deliver social and environmental benefits while pursuing profits.
As an enduring testament to Bank of Ceylon’s outstanding corporate citizenship, the Bank was recognised with Economic Sustainability Award under Triple Bottom-line Awards and Economic Contribution Award for Consistent Commitment and Continuous Improvement Award. The Bank also emerged as a Category Award winner for the Economic Contribution at the recently concluded BCCS Awards ceremony.
These awards symbolise Bank of Ceylon’s relentless dedication and commitment in value creation for its stakeholders, sharing its profit meaningfully while stabilising the country’s financial system as the country’s largest bank as well as largest state-owned bank.

The BCCS Awards is considered to be one of largest and most recognised holistic competition that are opened to both large corporates as well as smaller enterprises in the country. Following a thorough evaluation process conducted by an esteemed panel of judges, the BCCS Awards recognised the efforts of the both private and public sector firms in interacting responsibly with their stakeholders, through recognising the importance of corporate sustainability in Sri Lanka.
Therefore, it’s one of highest accolades a corporate can receive in the country. These awards won by BOC is a certification that Bank of Ceylon is conducting its operations in line with the highest global ethical and sustainable standards with due care on the social and environmental aspect.
