Atarah Capital has announced the appointment of Bradley Emerson and Jennifer Samuel-Perera as Non-Executive Directors.
Atarah Capital offers corporate finance and investment banking solutions with primary focus on mergers and acquisitions advisory, structuring private equity and debt, public issuances of securities (equity/debt), corporate advisory and corporate restructuring programs.
Emerson has vast experience and key expertise in the banking industry in multiple arrays (both at product level and in services domains) in Sri Lanka and in the Middle East would handsomely reward our company in the future.
He counts nearly four decades of corporate experience, half of which at C-suite level. He has been a Banker prior to joining CIMA in May 2007, as the Regional Director, South Asia and Middle East (2007 – 2015). He worked with Commercial Bank as Senior Manager Operations (1989 – 2000), Nations Trust Banks as Head of Retail Banking (2000 -2003) and Pan Asia Bank as Deputy CEO (2003 – 2007) during the turnaround period.
Bradley was appointed by the Cabinet of Government of Sri Lanka as the COO of the Public Private Partnership Unit in 2017, during which time “Invest Sri Lanka” campaign was launched and nearly $ 5.6 billion worth of investment was work in progress when the unit was dissolved due to a ministerial change.
Moving onto his strong expertise in HR and his successful role as a “life coach”, Bradley was adjudged as one of the TOP HR Leaders in Sri Lanka by the World HRD Congress held in July 2017.
Bradley is a visiting lecturer in Faculty Management Sciences, COMSAT University, Lahore Pakistan and teaches Strategy and International Business for University of Wales Trinity St. David at IIHE. Bradley is also a Professional Coach with ICF credentials. He is also the Founder of Business Athlete Ltd., and Director at DOJO Enterprises Ltd.
Atara Chairman and Board of Directors believes Bradley’s strategic expertise both in Banking and HR, will benefit its clients especially on debt restructuring advisory and HR strategy formulation, restructuring and implementation.
Atarah Capital is on course to be licensed and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), under the market intermediary category of “Corporate Finance Advisor.”
The other new Director Jennifer brings a wealth of financial and commercial experience to Atarah Capital with over two decades of experience in Finance and Management in multiple industry verticals. Most recently, she was Director / CFO of an OTC Markets listed Software Company in the United States. She has held positions in leading software product companies, a large IT equipment Reseller company, Real Estate and at a DTH Satellite Media Company in Sri Lanka.
Jennifer’s recent experience in listing companies in OTC Markets and NASDAQ, expertise on preparing a company to meet eligibility criteria as per regulatory requirements etc would no doubt assist Atarah Capital in its international capital market strategy.
Whilst serving at the DTH Satellite media company, she led the financial, commercial and human resources due diligence, valuation of equity and was a key player in the successful completion of the divestment of shares, in evidence of her expertise in transaction advisory in M&A space.
Jennifer is a Management Accountant by profession and a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA-UK), and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). She holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, affiliated to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (PIM) Sri Lanka.
Atarah Capital said Jennifer’s strategic expertise will drive the Company’s international business, and simultaneously guide the firm on the regulatory compliance framework applicable to “Corporate Finance Advisor” firms licensed and regulated by Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka.
