Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. (Allianz Lanka) recently entered a tri-party agreement with the All Island School Children’s Transport Association (AISCTA) and Sensus Hub through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) which will serve as a pathway to uplift the transport services of schoolchildren via digitalisation.

As a part of this agreement, a special three-year motor insurance package has been offered to the AISCTA which will facilitate the insurance of 47,000 vehicles used to transport students, island-wide. Additional benefits include a curated Personal Accident Benefit cover for students along with numerous other incentives.

Speaking on this development, All Island School Children’s Transport Association Secretary Lalith Fernando shared his thoughts: “The signing of this MOU marks a new era for AISCTA. Our members greatly appreciate the recognition that we have received through this venture. The responsibility of transporting the future leaders of this nation in a safe and protected manner is something that all of us at the AISCTA greatly uphold and it is humbling to know that our requirement for better insurance schemes has been acknowledged. These schemes will enable our members to uplift their services and in turn, our association will gain more trust from the public. I am confident that many parents across the country will appreciate the priority given to enhance the safety levels of their precious children.”

Sensus Hub, entrusted with the development of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) software used in this venture was also elated to voice their opinions, as commented by their Director, Nishantha Gajanayake: “The agreement reached between the global insurance giant Allianz together with the AISCTA and Sensus Hub will strategically connect a global network to the safety of the precious lives of school children with advanced AI technologies. With thousands of students reaping the benefits of this venture, our technologies will make the associated data entries much easier to manage in a streamlined and efficient manner. As a result of this new relationship, we are confident that every parent in Sri Lanka will be happy and relieved to know that the passage of their children has now been made safer.”

Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. CEO Gany Subramaniam also commented on this venture: “It brings me great pleasure to see Allianz Lanka’s efforts to be even more of a socially responsible organisation in action through the signing of this MOU. The tri-party agreement that we have signed today is a culmination of expertise from the entities that are responsible for each of their duties. It is without a doubt that each of us looks forward to a pleasant association in order to facilitate enhanced safety for the children of Sri Lanka. We firmly believe that Sri Lanka’s children are our most valuable resource and best hope for the future and as a result, this socially responsible initiative is one that we are most proud of.”
