SLDF to feature High-street ‘Knicker-Queen’ Janie Schaffer on invite of MAS Holdings

Janie Schaffer – Founder of Knickerbox brand and the former Creative chief for the world’s most popular lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret is among the top design names in the world for lingerie design. Schaffer who has earned worldwide respect as a creative savant will be a special guest speaker for Sri Lanka Design Festival (SLDF) on the invitation of SLDF principal sponsor MAS Holdings. British born Janie Schaffer set up lingerie chain Knickerbox, which within a decade opened 150 stores, including outlets in Hong Kong and Japan. Her most notable contributions to the world of fashion came during her role as Chief Creative Officer at Victoria’s Secret, where she delivered the revival of Victoria’s Secret brand.Schaffer will be sharing the expertise she gained during her reign at Victoria’s Secret at one of the most crucial times, as a special guest speaker of the prestigious South Asian Apparel Leadership Forum at SLDF 2013. Schaffer’s views will be especially relevant to Sri Lanka as the nation progresses towards establishing a global lingerie hub powered by its high-tech apparel industry which has already earned its name as first-class a lingerie makers and recently, as designers too. SLDF supported by the apparel industry, supports this mission towards a global lingerie making hub and will share invaluable insights from many eminent personalities like Schaffer.
