Jetwing Blue to be home to Colombo Fashion Week For the third consecutive year, Jetwing Hotels is home to Sri Lanka’s famed design and fashion festival – The HSBC Colombo Fashion Week Resort Show. This time around, the beaches of Negombo and Jetwing Blue along with Jetwing Beach will be the showpiece upon which the genius and talents of local designers are unveiled. Colombo Fashion Week is renowned all across the world, and is a driving force behind the Sri Lankan fashion design industry. Celebrating 11 years of promoting the cause and brilliance of Sri Lankan fashion, the show once again comes back to Negombo; the location of the first ever resort show. Negombo, a vibrant town that is home to the fishing and hospitality industry in Sri Lanka, acts as a colourful cultural and historical setting. This year, Negombo will provide the ideal location for the CFW Resort Show. To be held from 1 to 4 October, this year’s program will see a host of new innovations and items including a series of Bright Sparks shows, which feature the creations of talented young undergraduates from a variety of the country’s leading fashion institutes. In addition, pop-up shops will be prominent throughout the show for the first time, providing opportunities to actually purchase items showcased at the events. Jetwing is taking the event a step further by linking delicious cuisine to eclectic fashion by hosting two world renowned culinary geniuses – Chefs Daniel Hebet and Kenneth Loke, from France and Malaysia respectively. A member of Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, Chef Hebet possesses extensive experience gained from travels all over the world, and is a Consultant Chef at the Michelin one star rated Mirande restaurant Avignon, the renowned Ladurée restaurant, and is now Chef Proprietor of Le Jardin du Quai at L’Isle sur la Sorgue in Provence, located in the south of France. Using only the freshest ingredients from local markets, Chef Hebet will work wonders at the Black Coral, Jetwing Beach on 1 and 2 October. Chef Kenneth Loke is a two time Bocuse d’Or winner, and has countless years of experience in renowned restaurants such as Restaurang Jonas – Sweden and the Equinox at Swissotel The Stamford – Singapore.
