Astanka Yoga Mandir down Ridgeway Place will hold an ‘Integrated Yoga Module for Arthritis’ (IYMA) five day therapy course starting August 17 for the prevention and management of arthritis.
Organized by the Institute of Human Excellence and Astanga Yoga Mandir, pioneers in yoga practices in Sri Lanka, the course will take on two batches, one in the morning and another in the evening. The course would be held for two hours for five days.
Symptoms of osteoarthritis includes deep aching pain in joints, difficulty dressing or combing hair, difficulty gripping objects, difficulty sitting or bending over, fatigue, morning stiffness for less than an hour, pain when walking, stiffness when resting and swelling of joints. Yoga has been identified as a practice to curb these symptoms and better health conditions of people.
