The best female vocalist in Maldives, Unoosha had her first International show in Colombo on 19 February, 2011 at Ceylon Continental Hotel. The concert was held at the Sapphire Ballroom amidst of Maldivians and Sri Lankans who really enjoyed her performance; Iraj also joined her at latter part of the show while Black provided the music throughout the night.
The event was named as "Unoosha Live in Colombo". This event is a promo or teaser of her new album which will be released during 2011. Unoosha started singing at a very young age. Her parents are music legends in Maldives. Her mom and dad used to rock the stages when music really began to evolve in the heavenly islands of Maldives.
It all changed when she sang the Dhivehi version of "Careless Whispers" by George Michael on stage on her Eighth grade Inter School Music Competition. She won second place in the competition which proved to be the turning point. Next year she rocked the competition with the Maldivian version of "Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston. She won the well deserved first place and many offers started pouring in from the music producers to sing for audio albums. During the next two years she competed in the Inter School Music Competition She won 1st place in a row and became the first ever female vocalist to win the competition three times.
Now with more than 100 studio recordings to her name, each and every album which comes out in Maldives has at least a song by Unoosha. After four years with the band she joined the National Center of Arts (NCA) in 2008.
Recently she has formed her own band and has been playing at the most exclusive high class resort chains of Maldives. These include Hilton, Conrad and Manafaru Beach House. She performs regularly at these high class resorts.
She has also performed on Mariah Carey wedding renewal ceremony at Reethi Rah resort and recently performed at Waldorf Astoria Festive period of 2009 and 2010 at Beach House the Waldorf Astoria Collection. Recently she won the best female vocalist at the first Music Video Awards held by VTV.
