Raux Brothers on Tuesday opened its latest speciality store Elements at R.A De Mel Mawatha, complimenting the ‘E’ in their sub branding ‘Home.’

With each letter standing for a unique collection of furniture and accessories, the collections are classified as Heritage collection (H), Outdoor collection (O), Master collection (M) and Elements (E).

Featuring high end designs of decorative home accessories the new store showcases a range of unique glassware, chandeliers, floor and table lamps and lanterns, ceramic and porcelain ware, servers, woven baskets, an assortment of travel chests, wine carriers, marble bowls and luxurious hand woven rugs among other timeless designs.

Going classical to accentuate the product, the store is the third for Raux. The brand new store is expected to be the latest trend for those who wish to open wedding registries or gift loved ones at their weddings or house warming parties. Established in 1959, Raux Brothers is spearheaded by a team led by Graham and Kalani Raux. By incorporating innovative and modern ideas the organisation has been transformed into a modern furniture manufacturing and sourcing company.

Today the company stands as a forerunner in the furniture business and its success has been attributed to its design specialty in creating handcrafted wooden furniture as well as handpicked items from abroad.

Considering the niche market the Company caters to, Raux Brother’s skilled craftsmen take time in customising each piece for the clients. Inspired by tradition, Raux collections have the distinction of a perfect combination of traditional and contemporary interior.

The classic and contemporary furniture designs provide a constant source of inspiration for creative ideas and innovative concepts which have been mirrored through the presentation of each store, designed to draw high-end customers.

In addition to ‘Elements’, Raux Brothers operates its flagship store ‘Masters’ on Bullers Road and one other specialty store ‘Heritage’ on De Fonseka Road. Going with the title ‘Home,’ Masters carries the entire assortment, while Heritage specialises in traditional, timeless and tasteful furniture of different eras and Elements focuses on decorative home ware. Each offers handcrafted designs that are both durable and appealing.

Speaking about the opening of the new store Managing Director of the Company Graham said, “The Company expects the per capita income levels in Sri Lanka to rise post-war given the increasing numbers of tourists to the country, opening up new markets and giving rise to a more demanding clientele.” He noted that the launch of the new store is one way in which they gear themselves to meet the demands of the new customers.

In keeping with its promise to serve those who appreciate the finest, Raux Brothers collaborates closely with its clients, architects and designers to produce bespoke furniture to special requirements. A core part of the company’s business today consists of furnishing projects for resorts in Sri Lanka and overseas, plantation bungalows, private residences, chateaus, apartments and restaurants.

Given the anticipated demand boom, the furniture manufacturing capability has been moved to a modern and extensive factory in Piliyandala, which incorporates the traditional hand crafting abilities together with its enhanced manufacturing capability. This facility has the capacity to handle large scale hotel projects both in Sri Lanka and overseas. In addition a state of the art Design Centre is housed alongside the production facility.
