Niko, the ex-street dog that inspired several collections of clothing and accessories for ODEL’s ‘Embark’ label is depicted as a spy in an exciting new collection that is to be presented at a colourful fashion show on 11 February at 7p.m. at the Atrium Lobby of the Alexandra Place store.
A unique of feature of this event, ODEL’s first fashion show for the year, is that winners of Embark’s ‘Be a Pashionable Person’ campaign of 2010 will be among those who walk the ramp at the fashion show with their dogs. Several other dog lovers and their adopted dogs will join them on the catwalk.
The collection comprises of Men’s, Ladies and Kids T shirts, clothing and accessories. New additions include slippers for kids, car accessories, a range of glow-in-the dark wrist bands, new styles of T shirts with crew necks, V necks and polos, and drape vests and jackets for ladies. For those who fancy themselves as Bond girls, the range offers Boyfriend shorts with slogans which convey just the right measure of attitude.
Commenting on the latest Niko inspired collection, ODEL’s Divisional Merchandising Manager Thilina Dassanayake said: “In popular portrayal, spies are stylish and lead interesting and mercurial lives. Our mascot Niko has also gone places, and is a legend in his own right. His fantasy world has already inspired several collections that have raised funds to help street dogs, and we have high expectations for this new collection.”
He said the new items of clothing added to the collection are casual but elegant, as befitting the panache of a spy of the calibre of James Bond. Sophisticated embellishments that are the hallmark of Embark clothing are featured on many of the new garments, maintaining consistency with previous collections.
The ‘Niko the Spy’ collection is now on sale at the Embark departments at all ODEL stores, the suburbs and at the ODEL ‘Luv SL’ stores at Queens Hotel, Kandy and the Dutch Hospital in Colombo.
