Spearheaded by Sri Lankan celebrity chef Koluu, the restaurant Lemon introduced six new items to their extensive fusion menu earlier this week. Two and a half years since its inception, Lemon has firmly established itself in the hearts, or rather the taste buds, of Colombo’s gourmands, with its eclectic range of scrumptious dishes.
“Although we have been in operation for some time, we don’t make many changes to the menu on a regular basis as our patrons have their firm favourites that they tend to order over and over again when they come here,” explained Koluu. Keeping to this, the changes made to the menu have been minimal, with two of the slow-moving dishes taken out and replaced with six others, including a vegetarian dish.
The new dishes include roast lamb – succulent Australian lamb served with mint gravy, grilled vegetables and Mediterranean potatoes, chicken korma – tender pieces of chicken served with steamed rice, cucumber salad and mango chutney, grilled chicken lemon style – filler of chicken stuffed with feta cheese and spinach, served with a creamy mushroom sauce, baked potato and salad, Shanghai seafood noodles, Mediterranean baked fish served with Lyon potatoes and mixed salad, and creamy mushroom pancakes – assorted mushrooms wrapped in herb pancakes served with a mixed salad.
This comes in line with the decision to refurbish and reposition Lemon in the near future, added Lemon Director Dinesh Wijesinghe. Koluu also revealed that Lemon, in preparation for the Christmas season, will feature an ice cream made purely of Christmas cake ingredients on the menu during December.
