Roland Corporation is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of electronic musical instruments. With over 40 years of experience that continues to shape the sound of modern music, Roland is known to set the standards in music technology in the world.
As an authorised dealer in Sri Lanka, Multi Audio Visual markets Roland’s wide range of musical instruments that includes keyboards, drum sets, digital pianos and synthesisers. Multi Audio Visual was first established in 1968 as an importer of electronic components. In 1990, the company expanded their product offering to include sound systems and PA systems. Subsequently, in the year 2000, they commenced importing of professional sound and light systems and was soon recognised as a leading latest technology provider for such products in the island. Today, the company has 45 agents in different districts and 10 major distributors in all main cities across the island.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Multi Audio Visual Managing Director Tilak Arunasiri stated, “Roland has always been a well-known brand in Sri Lanka among those who are involved in the field of music due to its world-class quality and state-of-the-art technology. However, the unavailability of a distributor eventually meant that customers had no choice but to migrate to other brands. We felt it is time to bring Roland back into the Sri Lankan market and let the music-loving public experience the finest in the world. We intend to make Roland the best-selling electronic musical instrument brand in the country now that the brand has the support of an established Authorised Dealer in Multi Audio Visual.”
“Roland’s wide range of musical products is ideal for keyboard players, music bands, music teachers, melody writers and sound studio owners. With this launch, we are presenting them with the opportunity to acquire the much-loved brand that many of them have grown up with,” stated Roland Music Centre Manager Harsha Udayanga. He added that there are many new products in Roland specially-designed towards Eastern music. “This means that customers can easily use Roland products to imitate local instruments such as the conch shell (hakgediya) sound and different types of local drum sounds,” he claimed.
While Roland is one of their key brands, Multi Audio Visual also markets several internationally-recognised brands such as Mackie, Numark, Allen & Heath, Phonic, Akai, Alesis, Alto, Denon DJ, M-Audio, sound king and Samson.
