M. D. Gunasena, leading publisher, printer and bookseller, launched a loyalty member initiative, a first in the industry, at a ceremony held at the Colombo 5 bookshop. The inauguration was held under the patronage of Chairman Percy Gunasena, Managing Director Ananda Gunasena, Deputy Managing Director Rajiv Gunasena, Visakha Vidyala Colombo Principal Sandamali Aviruppola, Vice Principal Sujatha Devendra and other special invitees.
The first loyalty cards were handed over by Rajiv Gunasena to Sandamali Aviruppola and longstanding customer Chayani Deen. Through this innovative introduction, consumers can now walk into any M.D. Gunasena retail outlet and become a loyalty member, and enjoy customised membership privileges including redemptions on purchases, seasonal members-only promotions, exclusive invites to company events, latest news and updates about new products and services, and so much more.
M.D. Gunasena Deputy Managing Director Rajiv Gunasena reiterated, “The introduction of the loyalty member program will further enhance the company’s service offering, providing consumer insights to purchase preferences and history, thereby in return helping us tailor our offerings to our valued customers.”
He further added, “Our consumers can now earn as they shop, collecting and redeeming points on their favourite books, stationery, toys and music sold in all the outlets. The loyalty membership opens a gateway to an ultimate shopping experience. This allows us to appreciate and offer incentives every time they shop.”
M.D. Gunasena since its incorporation in 1913 has become the most prestigious publisher in Sri Lanka with 17 outlets island-wide. For more than a century, the company has remained at the forefront of the publishing industry in Sri Lanka.
