Japanese Cultural Exhibition this weekend

The Embassy of Japan in Colombo in cooperation with the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of Sri Lanka will hold a Japanese Cultural Exhibition this weekend in Colombo. The exhibition will be held at the Harold Peiris Gallery, Lionel Wendt in Colombo from 31 August to 1 September 2013. The exhibition is designed to display Japan’s culture and lifestyle and thereby to further enhance the friendly relations between the peoples of Japan and Sri Lanka. The exhibition will feature Ikebana floral arrangements, bonsai plants, origami, as well as demonstrations of the tea ceremony, Ikebana floral art, bonsai planting and origami folding. It will be open to the general public on 31 August from 12 noon to 6 p.m. and on 1 September from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission to the exhibition and demonstrations are free of charge.
