INSEAD, the leading international business school, is giving out 10 Executive Education scholarships worth more than S$290,000 as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of its Asia campus in Singapore. The scholarships will go to Singapore-based non-profit organisations (NPO) or non-governmental organisations (NGO).

“These scholarships are INSEAD’s opportunity to give back to the community and to be a good neighbour to Singapore, a country which has graciously hosted our Asia campus for the past 10 years,’’ said INSEAD Dean J. Frank Brown.  “We hope that these INSEAD executive education programmes will benefit both the local workforce and the socially responsible institutions for which they work.’’

INSEAD has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) and the National Council of Social Service (NCSS).  The two organisations will collaborate with INSEAD to award the scholarships to suitable candidates from NGOs, NPOs or NCSS.

“The INSEAD Scholarships will be a valuable resource and enabler for key leaders and senior managers of the immediate and long-term care sectors and complement AIC’s efforts to raise the professional capabilities of the sector.  Singapore’s aging population will bring about greater opportunities and challenges for the sector, for which modern and innovative management capability will become even more key.  The INSEAD Scholarships are a meaningful contribution not just to the ILTC sector but also to strengthening future healthcare in Singapore,’’ said Dr Jason Cheah, Chief Executive Officer of AIC.

‘’Enhancing leadership capability by increasing opportunities for development and growth of talents is one of the NCSS’s key priorities to ensure consistency and competency in service delivery standards in the social service sector.  NCSS is pleased to receive the Scholarships for the sector as it helps to further NCSS’s effort in equipping the Voluntary Welfare Organisations with the leadership skills and knowledge to keep in tandem with the changing operating environment to meet the emerging needs of the social service sector,’’ said Ang Bee Lian, Chief Executive Officer, NCSS.

The extensive portfolio of scholarships will be awarded over a maximum period of five years and are intended to provide the full costs of matriculation including course fees and selected meals. Specially-designed for senior managers and executives across various industries, the scholarships are aimed at covering areas such as business-to-business strategies, business expansion in Asia, local and international marketing strategies, supply chain management and the comprehensive development of useful skills to succeed in the corporate environment.

“As an international business school, INSEAD takes pride in the fact that our programmes are recognized for being highly strategic towards the needs of today’s business executives. These scholarships are strong testament to our commitment towards nurturing outstanding individuals who can lead the corporate world,” said Brown.
