HUTCH, one of the leading providers of broadband 3G services in the country partnered with MTV Sports in collaboration with YES 1O1 to sponsor YES Superstar Season 3. Tagged as the ultimate reality singing competition, YES Superstar aims to create a platform that recognizes singers purely based on their talent and originality, according to the organisers.
This year’s YES Superstar featured Sri Lanka’s most popular female artistes, Natasha Ratnayake, Dellain Joseph and Ashanthi de Alwis as judges, the show minimised the typical voting system followed by many reality shows and instead allowed the judges to make the final decision. In the end after a close encounter Ryan Henderlin emerged as the Season 3 winner while Vithma Kumarage, Darren Stork and Dinukshi Hettige emerged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd runner-up respectively.
HUTCH Chief Executive Officer Thirukumar Nadarasa said: “We are extremely happy to partner with Sri Lanka’s only English language reality music competition. This gives us an opportunity to not only develop a bespoke platform to engage with our customers, but also especially offers an ideal prospect for local talent to fulfill their dreams while discovering fresh talent. The partnership with YES Superstar strengthens HUTCH’s association as a youthful brand committed towards local talent development.”
