Hatton National Bank (HNB) and Hemas Hospitals celebrated the World Children’s Day on 1 October with a special programme organised for children. The event was held at Hemas Hospital Wattala with the participation of more than 75 children who were accompanied by their parents.
The event turned out to be a memorable moment for children as well as for the staff of Hemas Hospital and Hatton National Bank. The highlight of the event was the awarding of 25 Singithi Kiriketiyo Children’s Savings Accounts to babies born at Hemas Hospital under the Maathru programme. The event started with cutting of a cake by the children to mark World Children’s Day. This was followed by distribution of gift packs provided by HNB and Hemas Hospital and a magic show organised by the hospital. Over one thousand babies are born under the Maathru programme launched by Hemas Hospitals which offers a fixed price baby delivery package. All babies born under the Maathru programme are awarded a HNB Singithi Kiriketiyo Children’s Savings Account with an initial deposit of Rs.1,500 and additional benefits.
