Kiddies’ Camp at Cinnamon Lakeside kicks off

Any parent will agree that children need constant stimulation.  Catering to the needs of its youngest customers, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo will introduce a Kiddies Camp which will be held on the last Sunday of every month.  In order to keep things fresh and interesting, the event will be held at various locations of the hotel’s premises on different months, beginning with the Poolside and later the Terrace, swimming pool and even the hotel’s latest venue, the Dukes Court Garden.  

“Our idea is to engage children and promote ways in which they can spend their time constructively,” explains Neroy Marso, General Manager of the hotel.  “We find children spend less and less time outdoors and many hours a day engrossed in solitary entertainment with video games and on the computer.  In order to curb the trend we have conscientiously introduced Kiddies Camp to give parents a wholesome choice in entertainment for their children” The first Kiddies Camp kicks off at 11:30am on Sunday 31 October and continues until 3.00pm.  Children below twelve are welcome.  In the spirit of Halloween, they are encouraged to come in costume.  A parade has been organized, and the child in the best costume will be selected and rewarded.  An interactive session has been organized with the hotel’s Chefs where the kids will be taught to bake Halloween cookies and buns.

Other activities that have been organized include making paper plate masks, a mummy wrap relay, pinning the nose on the Halloween pumpkin, a Halloween drawing competition, bobbing for apples, eating a doughnut off a string, face painting, Halloween cartoons and the afternoon will end with a kids’ disco.

The Poolside will take on a mysterious new look with carved pumpkins, orange lanterns, scarecrows, bats, cobwebs, a horror house and even a graveyard where you would least expect it!  Eerie music will add to the chill.  

A buffet of children’s favourites such as mini Halloween cookies, marshmallows, hot dogs, pizzas, a Halloween fruit punch and many others will be available.  The entire package is offered to the young ones at just Rs. 950nett per child.  Further details may be obtained by contacting the hotel on 2 491 998.
