Guest Chef Lijun Zhou to spice up World Spice Food Festival and Emperor’s Wok

World Spice Food Festival is held every year showcasing cuisines from around the world. Guest Chefs are flown in from various parts of the world to bring out the authenticity of each cuisine. This year too there will be over 15 stalls ranging from Malaysian, Chinese, Australian, Arabic and more and will be held at the Board Walk (Diyawanna Park) in Battaramulla from 5 to 7 October from 5p.m. onwards which will be open for the public. Diners can enjoy the ‘Hawker Street’ style ambience whilst tasting the deliciously prepared food.

Hilton Colombo is privileged to welcome Chef Lijun Zhou also known as Chef Eric who will be cooking Chinese food at the World Spice Food Festival and thereafter will be showing off his culinary skills at the Emperor’s Wok from 8 to 20 October with Cantonese Huaiyang cuisine during dinner. Hailing from the historical and cultural city of Nanjing, Chef Lijun Zhou, also known as Chef Eric is the second in charge of Hukama restaurant, one of the renowned Chinese restaurants at the Address Hotel in Dubai. After completing his secondary education in hospitality management at the Jin Ling Institute of Hotel Management, Chef Eric joined Jin Ling Hotels as a trainee cook.

His inspiration and interest on Chinese food stimulated his career, where he was appointed as the Chef de Partie at Atlantis the Palm Jumeriah in Dubai. Acquiring four solid years of experience in traditional Cantonese Huaiyang Cuisine, Chef Eric designed his own signature appetiser called Wasabi with Prawns which gained popularity amongst Chinese food lovers. He is also a specialist in Nanjing Roast Duck, Wok Fried Scallops with XO sauce and Modern Chinese cuisine.
