Cinnamon Treats – the latest rage at Goodies

Though it has been found that the aroma of cinnamon boosts cognitive function and memory, the newest cinnamon treats at Goodies is compelling, more as it is indicative of its heavenly taste, than because of its health benefits.  Sri Lanka is blessed with the finest cinnamon; so inspiration for this range came all too naturally to the pastry chefs at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo.

The cinnamon infused treats at ‘Goodies’ come in eleven irresistible forms.  The Cinnamon Honey Bun priced at Rs. 90 is a popular breakfast choice.

As the aromatic cinnamon filling separates every swirl of the bun, each bite is bound to contain a generous helping of it.  The base of the Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut is of the perfect consistency and makes a fine doughnut even without the cinnamon.  A generous sprinkling of cinnamon powder on top is what makes it irresistible at just Rs. 65.

For a melt in the mouth cinnamon experience, the Cinnamon Kisses are a must try, whilst the Cinnamon Fudge presents a richer choice of the two quick treats.

Goodies is famous for raisin and oatmeal cookies as well as chocolate chip cookies, and now the Cinnamon Cookies add another flavour to the range.  For added variety, the chefs have even introduced a Cinnamon Cracker.

The treats go on with Cinnamon Butterflies, Cinnamon Cigars, Cinnamon Scones, Cinnamon Danishes and even Cinnamon Cupcakes ranging from Rs. 65 to Rs. 255.  Goodies is open from 7.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and can be reached on 2491804 for details.

There’s nothing left to share but a piece of advice.  Make a stop at Goodies for a taste of cinnamon, not because it relieves arthritis, and not because it is a great source of fibre, iron and calcium but simply because it tastes so good infused with these special treats.
