Amidst a colourful gathering and traditional customs, Browns Hospital Ragama celebrated the Sri Lankan New Year in a grand scale at the Boys’ Town Grounds on 23 April.
“Avurudu is a time when Sri Lankans come together to celebrate our traditions and rituals that have been passed on from generation to generation. The New Year is also an opportunity to educate the younger generation of our nation’s respected customs as well as teaching them the value of peace and unity,” stated Browns Hospitals CEO Dr. Iraivan Thiyagarajah.
The event was open to the residents of Ragama as well as the employees of Brown & Company PLC. The young and old alike took part and enjoyed the various games and activities that were organised. The aim of the event was to build and strengthen the relationship with the residents of Ragama and the neighbouring communities.
