Indian life and culture are closely interwoven with the history of Indian silk sarees, thereby giving each state and culture a unique style of design, weaving pattern, dyeing, handworks and finishing.

The artistry and craftsmanship of the weavers and craftsmen give a unique touch from the fabric selection, to creating intricate designs patterns and embroideries.

At Aanchal (meaning the end piece or the pallu) we strive to bring an array of handpicked sarees from all across India. Navigating through the vast labyrinth of Indian roads and cultures we aim to find the rarest and the most tasteful sarees that best suit our own Sri Lankan culture.

Aanchal’s first exhibition and sale of sarees will be held on 26 and 27 May at 168/3 Stanley Thilakeratne Mawatha Nugegoda. For more information check out our Aanchal FB page and await the opening of our outlet soon. Call us on 0718699755 for more information.
