The Joint, the new rustic-themed pub, has opened at Chatham Street with a new look and an exciting food and beverage offering.
It started operations in May 2021, but due to the pandemic, it had restrictive operations in the first few months, got a name in the market through food deliveries, as dine in and bars were closed. Feedback from customers were enthralling with them experiencing a new authentic fusion food taste. Since November 2021 post lifting the restrictions have been fully operative.
The rustic-themed, unique design concept is from the ever-famous Potter Ajith Perera known as ‘Master Potter’ in Sri Lanka. Ajith was given a free hand in designing The Joint.
When it comes to food, all its dishes are made with freshly handpicked organic ingredients. Its panel of expert’s chefs work the woks to make sure that each bite that customer have is filled with a promising taste with all organic ingredients.
Our mission is to follow all hygienic measures to assure that the customer gets the best and safest food around. The texture, colour, aroma and the taste of all the dishes are the result of its promise to deliver to the customer an all-natural taste full meal, every time you eat at The Joint at Chatham Street.
Some food dishes are one of a kind, found only at The Joint, for instance the Kottu range, a kottu with a twist with a Thai flavour; famous among the customers, and a top dish in Colombo.
The Seafood Platter is another hot dish, a mix of lagoon crabs, tiger prawns, prawns, cuttlefish, tuna and grilled vegetables.
The signature cocktails are a must try. All cocktails are made with originality.
The dessert range again is a must try, if you taste the Tiramisu or Kavum Paha, you will know it.
Situated amidst the colonial beauty of the Old Dutch Hospital in the heart of Colombo, at The Joint, it has the inside seating as well as an open-air courtyard. A private place for everyone to enjoy dine in or drinks.
It is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily and during weekends it is opened till later hours. Entertainment is provided by famous bands and DJs in Colombo.
“We also offer the outside court yard or inside for Private functions exclusively. Menus are customised to suit the requirement. All our food is also available through uber eats, eat-me-global and direct deliveries,” a spokesman said.
The Joint is owned by JK Tradelink Ltd., one of the top importers and trading companies of industrial raw material in Sri Lanka since 1998. A leader in providing innovative solutions in the areas of food, pharmaceuticals, personal care, feed and animal nutrition, rubber and plastic, cleaning and hygiene solution.
Now, expanded to the leisure sector with two projects – The Joint in the heart of Colombo and Club Man-Go – Eco Chic Beach Resort in Kalpitiya with nine challays and further expansion plans are underway to expand to 20 chalets in 7.5 acres of land.
Further, it also has land held by the bank in Wilpattu, Ella, Digana (inside the Golf Club), Kandy. The next project is likely to be in Wilpattu, a much sought-after tourist destination. A replica of The Joint will be there in each of these resorts, the spokesman added.
