Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in India Milinda Moragoda has begun discussions with the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in New Delhi to explore the contours of an exchange of exhibitions between India and Sri Lanka.
The NGMA is India’s premier gallery of modern art and operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. Among its extensive collection are works by India’s most important artists including Nandalal Bose from the Bengal School of Art.
Moragoda has held several rounds of discussions with the museum’s Director General Adwaita Gadanayak to develop a program of action. Gadanayak, is also one of India’s leading sculptors whose works include several iconic national monuments in India.
