Q: Love Drops by Shero offers a super luxurious curated gift box experience. What made you start this and how has the response been?

 The idea was born in response to isolation and during the curfews. Many people were locked in and unable to spend time with their loved ones, be it their mother, sister or friend. I saw an opportunity to provide a service to help cheer up and show love to those who were missing out from physical contact. 

The response has been beyond our wildest expectations! We never really imagined it to be anywhere near as popular as it has been in such a short timeframe, when the idea was conceived, but I guess given the circumstances at the time we launched Love Drops and how something as unique as this can trend on social media, it’s no surprise.  To add to that, the truly luxurious premium look and feel that our boxes have along with the complete customisability of every aspect so that one could create the most perfect gift for their loved ones are unique value propositions offered by Love Drops, definitely big reasons why there seems to be so much love for Love Drops.

Q: What are the most popular gift items so far and what are the unique items you offer?

 Just like our weddings and our events, our curated boxes are unique and personalised, which is why you would notice we do not advertise pre-set boxes. Love Drops is a personalised, custom curated gift service, so it’s designed exactly as the customer would like it to be.

You could choose to include any item in the gift box that you wish to have; having said that, of course flowers are by far the most popular item to be included in most boxes we send out – after all every woman loves flowers! Custom-decorated sweets to go along are also very popular.

The ‘Indulgence Box’ we do for men has also been very popular as there has probably been a gap in the market when it comes to sending out special gift of this kind to a man. Popular choices included in the men’s ‘Indulgence Box’ are chocolates and sweets but specific items such as cigars or their favourite single malt are also options our customers have gone with

Q: How does Love Drops by Shero differentiate from other gift curating services?

 There are some great gift services in Sri Lanka these days. Ours is unique because it blends flowers and confectionary and is also bespoke. We are creative and don’t have a one size fits all offer; instead we are flexible, whatever the customer wants, they get! When we say completely customisable, we mean it, so your choice of what to include in the box is not limited by us and even the packaging doesn’t really have to be a box!

Q: Where do you source the gift items from and what are the key aspects you look out for in terms of selecting suppliers?

 When it comes to cakes and sweets, we only work with a handful of well-established cakers in Colombo and our customers even have the option of picking a specific one out of them. The packaging and the florals are of course done by us. Unique gift items like perfumes, beauty products, single malts and cigars, etc. are only sourced from the most reputed suppliers. We only work with suppliers who are both reliable in terms of delivery and reputed to always provide the best quality product of whichever item we are sourcing.

Q: Do you advise customers on how to mix and match? 

 Yes we most certainly do guide them through the process with suggestions and come up with the general creative concept for how the box would look. Coming up with the final customised gift box involves discussing with the customer on what message they would like to convey, the likes and dislikes of the receiver and their personality, etc. Trying to come up with the perfect gift to surprise that special someone can often be a daunting task and we are there every step of the way to help our customers do just that!
