Versatile and gorgeous Anjuni Hettiarachchi is braving the current economic crisis prevalent in the country by venturing into exports by launching her second brand “Flax in Bloom’’ to compliment her currently successful brand “Kamaaliya” which was focused at the young and hip local market.
“The pandemic has taught me to count my blessings each day, and the current crisis has made me realise it’s a do or die situation and the only way to be successful now is to export,” she says: “I have been blessed and lucky to have found an opportunity to ship my designs, and to design for the Internationally affiliated beauty pageant Miss Intercontinental 2022 will help boost my brands exponentially.”
“It is a distressing and stressful experience, but the pandemic has taught me to count my blessings each day,” she revealed with a note of optimism.
Her signature collections include evening gowns, lined pants and her Tie-Dye T-shirts aimed at girls around her age seeking to find comfort and confidence through what they wear. She incorporates vibrant, colourful and urban designs on high quality fabrics to create unique apparel which are well-embroidered rich, effortlessly chic with an elegant look.
