South Korea assures to continue annual teacher training opportunities

South Korea assured to continue the annual teacher training opportunities provided to Sri Lanka and to increase the number of participants. Th i s was r eve a l e d when the Minister of Education Akila Wiraj Kariyawasam met with the Superintendent of Gwangju Metropolitan Education Department in South Korea during the Special Education Program 2016 being held in South Korea from 18 to 22 July. The both parties also focused the attention on the special activities related to Information Te c h n o l o g y, Q u a l i t y Management and e-learning sectors.

South Korea is annually providing opportunities for Sri Lankan Information and Communicat i o n Technology teachers and officials to participate in a workshop and for the Minister of Education to participate in an annual special educational program since 2005 according to the MoU executed between the Ministry of Education in Sri Lanka and Gwangju Metropolitan Education Department. The mini s t e r wa s accompanied by the Additional Secre t a r y of Education, Quality Development Section H.U. Premathi laka and The Director of Information a nd Commun i c a t i o n Technology Branch Niel Gunadasa.
