SLIIT, the premier private degree-awarding institute in Sri Lanka, has over 25 foreign partner universities in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and the United States. Identifying the significance of an increasingly interconnected world, SLIIT continues to strengthen its ties with foreign universities and provides students with a broad scope of academic opportunities, both locally and globally. SLIIT has now commenced enrolment of students for the undergraduate degree programs of Curtin University, Australia, for the 2016/17 Intake.
Applications will close on 23 September and the aptitude test will be held on 9 October. Curtin University, ranked 211 in the world (2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities), has exclusively partnered with SLIIT for the past 16 years, to produce high calibre graduates for the nation and beyond. Students entering the international pathways at SLIIT, have the opportunity of graduating from Curtin University, in Sri Lanka. While a transfer option to Curtin is also available, SLIIT delivers the Curtin degrees to completion. In this light, Curtin University is the highest-ranked Australian degree pathway available to complete entirely in Sri Lanka. Curtin offers degrees in the disciplines of Engineering and Computing in partnership with SLIIT.
Students may enter directly into the Curtin degree at SLIIT after two years of study in the international pathway program. The four-year degrees offered are the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Civil and Construction Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Furthermore, the SLIITCurtin University partnership paves the way for students to obtain threeyear Bachelor of Science degrees in Computing in the streams of Information Technology, Software Engineering, as well as in Computer Systems and Networking.
At SLIIT, students have the opportunity to demonstrate their potential both within and outside the classroom by engaging in a wide range of societies, international forums, student-led events and sporting competitions held both locally and abroad.
