The Past Pupils’ Association of Lindsay Girls’ School, Colombo 3 felicitated their alma mater’s 116th (1900-2016) birthday by donating a much-needed fully-equipped Information Technology Laboratory for the benefit of the current students on 2 September.
This project was co-sponsored by Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC. The new IT laboratory is equipped with 45 computers and other essential equipment required to cater for 45 students at any particular time.
The completion of this project is a dream come true for the Past Pupils’ Association which had been working dedicatedly and tirelessly over the past few years, organising many fund raisers to accumulate the required finances to sponsor a state-of-the-art IT laboratory, thus placing their alma mater in the forefront in the field of Information Technology.
The Information Technology Laboratory was opened under the auspices of Western Province Zonal Director of Education W. M. Jayantha Wickramanayake, Western Provincial Councillor Susil Kindelpitiya, Cordinator Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC Mahesh Ratnayake and Vivekanandan Parideepan, Principal of Lindsay Girls’ School D.J. Lamahewa, the Vice Principals, academic staff, students, Secretary of the School Development Association Saliya Senarathne, and the members of the Past Pupils’ Association.
