The Queensland, Australia leg of the popular Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) 2015 was held recently. The competition saw Ezy Racing, Sri Lanka’s first professional motor racing team to compete in a FIA-sanctioned motor racing event in Asia Pacific, in contention via New Zealand’s promising star Mike Young. Driving Japan’s Cusco Subaru Impreza WRX Sti four-wheel drive car for EZY Racing, Mike emerged second in the Queensland rally. The achievement reinforced the landmark tie-up with 22-year-old Mike by Ezy Racing as a fresh strategic move to become a recognised motor racing team in Asia Pacific. The gruelling 227 kilometre, 18 stage rally was won by Swedish driver and current leader Pontus Tidemand, stretching his overall standing in the APRC 2015. Tidemand driving for Skoda MRF team also won the Pacific Cup as the Championship now moves to Asia with rallies in Malaysia, Japan and China. The third place was won by Subhan Aksa driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. Here are some highlights
