The most prestigious motor and motor accessories exhibition in the country, the Colombo Motor Show 2014 kicked off at the BMICH on Thursday. Organised by Asia Exhibition and Conventions for the seventh consecutive year, it was inaugurated by Co-operatives and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando. This exhibition is an annual event which brings together all leading suppliers in the motor industry. It features motor car shows, off road vehicle shows, vintage car shows and Volkswagen and mini minor car shows along with a range of other segments. Parallel to the exhibition, educational programs on topics such as vehicle traffic control, vehicle emission and the selection of good second-hand vehicles are also featured, in addition to a ‘car themed’ entertainment area for children as well as the Colombo Motor Show Rock Concert, vehicle demonstrations, bike competitions and food courts.
