Lotus Tower unfolds

The foundation stones for the US$ 104.3 million Colombo Lotus Tower were laid at a ceremony yesterday at D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo. This was followed by the unveiling of a plaque at the premises. Construction work is expected to be completed in 30 months and the tower is designed to be 350 metres in height. It will facilitate 50 radio and television channels each, 20 telecom services, observation galleries, revolving restaurants, large ballrooms, an administrative office, halls and a telecom museum –
