Envoy Concept 2016 by Envoy took place for a third consecutive time on 15 December at the Envoy Mansion, receiving glowing reviews from its distinguished audience and fashion trade pundits alike. Conceptualised by the well-respected men’s fashion consultant Fouzul Hameed, the Envoy Concept Show was a path-breaking high fashion and lifestyle event, which has taken Sri Lankan men’s fashion to new heights by unveiling the complete man of the coming year.
The audience was treated to a total of seven collections, which included the Summer Ride inspired by horizon, Urban Survival, Sesath, Black Tie (Tuxedo) inspired by Eminence and Modern Exotica inspired by the Great Gatsby. The trademark Hameedia ‘bespoke’ collections were also showcased at the event, reflecting the high level of craftsmanship and deep fashion insight using some of the most exquisite fabric in the world.
Reacting to the outstanding success of the event, Hameedia Group Managing Director Fouzul Hameed stated: “I am humbled to witness the outpouring appreciation for Envoy Concept 2016. My attempt was to emphasise the complete man and this is why we also showcased a healthy lifestyle along with our fashion designs. It was a fashion show with a difference and we hope it will inspire men in Sri Lanka to groom themselves in all these aspects. I would like to express my gratitude to the audience for their enthusiasm and appreciation, and credit the success of the evening also to the events partners Vision Care, Ramani Fernando Salons, Adidas, Cinnamon Hotels and Exclusive line.”
Hameed further added: “Serving society is a core value of the Hameedia Group, and Envoy Concept 2016 featured many strategic partners joining our fundraising efforts this year by supporting this event and all proceeds collected will be channelled towards the My Friend project, which helps educate underprivileged and marginalised children across the country.“
Envoy Concept 2016 gave a forecast on the fashion trends a year in advance, allowing men to be more aware of the trends they need to look out for and use to dress for different occasions. Adding an element of glamour to the show, renowned local and international models showcased each collection at the event.
A member of the audience commented on the show: “I speak for everyone present in the audience when I say that Envoy Concept Show has come a long way just in three years’ time. Watching Envoy Concept 2016 one could have been experiencing a high fashion event in Paris or Milan. Personally, I was especially impressed by Fouzul Hameed’s attempt to highlight the importance of personal grooming and healthy lifestyle as being complementary to fashion. ”
