Celebrating Pakistan’s 76th National Day

The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Maj. Gen. Syed Shakeel Hussain on Wednesday held an impressive ceremony at the High Commission of Pakistan in Colombo to mark the 76th National Day of Pakistan. The event was celebrated by the High Commission and the Pakistani community based in Sri Lanka with traditional fervour and resolved to make Pakistan a strong, vibrant, progressive and democratic Islamic welfare state. The High Commissioner said that Pakistan and Sri Lanka had intensified engagement and undertaken substantive measures to further deepen and broaden the economic and political relationship between the two sides. The ceremony was attended by the members of the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Council, Sri Lanka-Pakistan Friendship Trade and Investment Association, Government functionaries, ambassadors, prominent Sri Lankan personalities, Pakistani community in Sri Lanka and people from various walks of life including a large section of media – Pix by Shehan Gunasekera
