Big draw for UK High Commission’s Renaissance Dialogue on Lanka’s capital markets

Coinciding with the first-ever fully-fledged Sri Lanka Capital Markets Forum in London recently, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in the UK Dr. Chris Nonis held a reception for the participating Sri Lankan delegation and officials to network with British business, political and civil society leaders. A brief presentation on the recent performance of Sri Lanka’s capital market was made by Colombo Stock Exchange CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike. The UK invitees also benefitted from key insights and clarifications on a range of issues from a panel discussion and Q&A involving Dr. Nonis, Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Colombo Stock Exchange Chairman Balendra, CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike and JKH Deputy Chairman Ajit Gunewardene. The session was part of a new concept titled Sri Lanka Renaissance Dialogue, a regular non-political forum initiated by High Commissioner Dr. Nonis in London. SEC Commissioners Zuraish Hashim and Lolitha Abeysinghe as well SriLankan Airlines’ Manoj Gunawardena were also present at the event – Pix by Nisthar Cassim
