‘Jana Balaya’ protest

Thousands of protesters flocked to Colombo yesterday for the ‘Jana Balaya’ rally organised by the Joint Opposition. Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa joined the rally near the Bo tree at Fort and proceeded with the participants. The protest concluded with speeches and a ‘Sathyagraha’ at Slave Island
