An evening with a difference at SLID Annual Directors Dinner

The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) has organised Annual Directors Dinners, with each year having unique entertainment themes. This year, being the seventh consecutive year, SLID organised an evening of ‘unsolved mystery and paranormal saga’ on 8 November. 

Guests arrived at the Grand Ballroom of the Galle Face Hotel where they were able to relax, unwind and mingle with friends and colleagues at a pre-dinner drinks reception where the wine served was sponsored by Park Street Wines. A surprise business card draw was the highlight of the drinks reception with a voucher given to the winner by Park Street Gourmet, part of the Favourite International Group. After the lively drinks reception guests proceeded to the Grand Ballroom for dinner, a fine dining meal which was created especially for the event. 

Before the evening’s entertainment commenced SLID Chairman Rasakantha Rasiah addressed a full house and welcomed the guests to the annual event and briefly spoke about SLID activities. 

This year SLID once again presented a unique corporate event by ‘Knight of Illusions’, where guests were entertained by a number of acts that defy explanation! They also had a chance of finding answers to the unsolved!

Before the evening ended, there was a surprise entrance ticket draw with the 1st prize being one Falcon Gold Return air ticket to London from Gulf Air, 2nd and 3rd prize being two nights stay for two on full board basis at Club Palm Bay Resorts, Marawila, the 4th prize being a one night stay for two on full board basis at the Habitat, Kosgoda from Asia Leisure Hotels, and the 5th prize a dinner for two at the 57 Restaurant at Jetwing Colombo Seven from Jetwing Hotels.
