Recognising the social responsibility of a corporate, Kanrich Finance, a trusted company in the finance sector in Sri Lanka with a proven track record, launched yet another CSR project, ‘Haritha Danawwa,’ with a view to making the country look greener.
The purpose of the project is to popularise the habit of tree plantation and cultivation. While conducting awareness programs on human activities that cause environmental pollution, damaging forest cover, and ways to minimise such damages, plants will be given away free of charge. In the first phase of ‘Haritha Danawwa,’ jak plants were distributed among women in Matale District on International Women’s Day. In addition similar programs were carried out in branch level at Dambulla, Galgamuwa, Mathugama and Tissamaharama recently.
Plants of jak, guava, rambutan, teak and pihimbiya were successfully distributed among villagers in these areas. The program was carried out in collaboration with the Post-Harvest Management Institute of the Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs and Irrigation Ministry and all other institutions of the same Ministry.
Ministry of Agriculture Hadabima Authority Chairman T.H.M. Palindasagara and his staff continuously supported the Kanrich ‘Haritha Danawwa’ project,” said Kanrich Finance Manager CRS Unit Manoj Wariyagoda.
