The second phase of the beach clean-up organised by Dell Technologies happened to be yet another success with over 50 volunteers turning up recently at Trincomalee Beach. The clean-up was backed by the Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) and Trincomalee Municipal Council who provided valuable support in carrying out the project in the area. Travel Influencer The Sailor too participated and supported the crew creating much needed awareness about the project.
Dell Technologies provided necessary accessories and assured the safety of the members who participated. The crew commenced the clean-up and collected a considerable amount of plastic waste before heading for lunch and completed the clean-up by afternoon. The plastics collected were packed and transported to the recycler who is partnered with the project with the help of the Trincomalee Municipal Council.
The third and final phases of the beach clean-up will take place on 19 October in Kalutara and 26 October in Uswetakeiyawa respectively with the final event celebrating and reviewing the progress of the whole project is scheduled at the BMICH, in Colombo which would also feature awarding of Dell Laptops to the winners of the all-island children’s art competition.
