Members of the Ikebana International Sri Lankan Chapter are enthusiastically finalizing arrangements for the forthcoming spectacular event, “Pink Ribbon Bouquets, Sending Rays of Hope”, an Ikebana Floral Demonstration by Christopher Lim (AIFD), a renowned Ikebana Master from Singapore scheduled to be held at Queens Hotel Kandy on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 4.00 p.m. In addition, at the same time an Exhibition of Floral Arrangements created by Members of the  Ikebana International Sri Lankan Chapter will also be on display at this event. The Singaporean expert Christopher Lim, is the ‘Godfather’ of the Sri Lanka Chapter and is flying down especially to assist the members of the Ikebana Association to generate funds from this event to assist the breast cancer patients of the General Hospital, Kandy. In order to generate the maximum funds, Raffle Tickets are being sold, with prizes such as, airline tickets and overnight stays at boutique hotels. The total funds collected will be utilized to purchase drugs to assist distressed and traumatized women affected with cancer, hoping for a healthier and better tomorrow. The Members of Ikebana International Sri Lanka in presenting this event, for the first time in the city of Kandy, they have made it very special by including  various events, such as interludes of songs by a member of an international award winning choir, and have lined up more surprises. Whilst focusing on their main cause of raising funds for “Breast Cancer”, they hope to establish new friendships and share their creative knowledge amongst the people of Kandy, with floral interests. Their motto “Friendship through Flowers”, will no doubt, create an impact in the city of Kandy, and  this fundraiser an ‘eye opener’ for all.
