The Kingsbury serenaded its guests with a timeless rendition of Christmas carols from 22 to 24 December. The choir Choro Calibre entertained the guests who were also enjoying mulled wine and Christmas cake, keeping in tune with the season. The Kingsbury was dressed for the occasion in the combination of mellifluous gold and bronze colours with a touch of green wreaths, resurrecting the spirit of Christmas and setting the ambiance alive with cheer.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus made an appearance to delight the kids each evening during carols and added to the festive cheer whilst keeping the Christmas spirit alive. The Kingsbury kept to its promise of romancing the Season with such entertaining events that not only thrilled the adults but also brought warmth to the little ones.
The event featured Choro Calibre; a Youth choir consisting of 16 prolifically talented young vocalists from leading school choirs. The choir has been performing under the leadership of Shamal De Silva and has been awarded a Silver and two Bronze Diplomas in the folk and chamber category at the Asia Cantate International Choral Festival 2012, which concluded in Phuket, Thailand in July 2012. Their performance at The Kingsbury was spectacular and kept the guests harmonising to the familiar tunes all along.
