Würth Lanka Ltd., the Sri Lankan subsidiary of German trading giant Würth AG, announced a sponsorship for the Colomboscope a unique digital media cultural festival being held for the fourth consecutive year in Sri Lanka from 25 August to 1 September. The festival will be held at three venues with the main venue being the General Post Office in Colombo 1. The other venues are The Presidential Suite, Cinnamon Lakeside and the Sri Lanka Planetarium.
“We are delighted to support Cinnamon Colomboscope 2016 which has a unique theme of art and digital cultures in South Asia and Europe, and brings together contemporary artistes in order to exchange thoughts and ideas. Würth globally owns several art galleries and exhibition halls, and Professor Würth himself is a great art collector of modern times. Würth Lanka’s success is our diversity. Würth would like to promote art and culture, following the footsteps of Professor Würth, which gives us opportunities for differentiation and adaptation to be progressive,” said Würth Lanka Brand Executive Buddhi Perera.
“We are confident that the Colomboscope festival will be able to provide new perspectives of harmonisation, appreciation and learning to the participants. We wish them well,” she added. Organised by EUNIC Sri Lanka, which comprises the Goethe Institute, British Council and Alliance Français de Kotte, and curated by Dr. Susanne Jaschko, an expert in new media art, the festival will host an exhibition, workshops, performances, films, and artists’ and thematic conversations, while featuring eminent personalities in digital technology as well as contemporary art from Europe and South Asia. The festival will no doubt be a platform to exchange thoughts and ideas. Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts is the title sponsor of the event. Please visit www.cinnamoncolomboscope.com for more information.
