Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood Society is inviting the Bhikku Sangha and all Sri Lankans to witness this very important event, the photo exhibition depicting life events of the great Buddhist teacher in our times, the 14th Dalai Lama, to the Queen’s Hotel, Kandy on Wednesday 6 July anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The in-depth value and contribution by the Dalai Lama to global peace is immense considering that he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. The Dalai Lama is considered as a contemporary Buddha figure who is doing exactly the same mission that the Buddha did 2,600 years ago.
With a view to bring the Dalai Lama’s message of compassion to the Sri Lankans and also to appreciate his noble mission, the Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood is organising the event ‘The Dalai Lama – His Philosophy and Contribution to Global Peace Photo Exhibition’ on 6 July in Kandy. With this event they wish to create awareness and educate Sri Lankan citizens the mission, vision and the philosophy of the Dalai Lama and his great teachings.
Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood Society’s primary objective is to raise understanding and awareness of the common Buddhist heritage of the Sri Lankan and Tibetan peoples through literature, dialogue and exchange programs of Sri Lankan and Tibetan monks, nuns and lay students. They are also in a mission to translate works of eminent Buddhist masters and scholars from both languages. Their ultimate desire is to promote non-violence and compassion as values for humanity throughout the world.
All these photographs on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama are by Tenzin Choejor, the official photographer of the Office of the Dalai Lama. Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood Society extend their gratitude to the Office of the Dalai Lama and the Foundation for Universal Responsibility for giving permission to exhibit these wonderful moments of the Dalai Lama to the Sri Lankan public.
The Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood Society also exhibits some of their photographs done by their official photographer and the media secretary Rohan Pradeep Vitharana.
Special lectures on ‘The Dalai Lama – His Philosophy and Contribution to Global Peace’ will be delivered by well-known academics at the venue.
