Once again the battle for the galaxies begins in the Star Wars premier ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’.
The title for the first film in the Star Wars anthology series was announced in March, along with news that Felicity Jones was the first to be cast and the release date is now fixed for 16 December 2016. Since then, anticipation has been growing as to the storyline of this epic saga. The film is the first in the ‘Star Wars Anthology’, a series of standalone films, which will include movies dedicated to fan favourite characters like Han Solo and Boba Fett. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, or simply Rogue One, is an upcoming American epic space opera film directed by Gareth Edwards and written by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy, from a story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta. Its star cast includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker.
The film is produced by Lucasfilm and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Principal photography began at Elstree Studios near London in early August 2015 and wrapped up in February 2016, with reshoots and additional filming taking place in mid-June 2016. Rogue One is scheduled to premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival on 14 December 2016 and will be released in the United States on 16 December 2016.
Star Wars Rogue One will be screened at Majestic Cineplex at 10.15 a.m., 1.15 p.m., 4.15 p.m. and 7.15 p.m., with 10.15 p.m. screenings available on Friday and Saturday. At Empire Cineplex the film will screen at 1.30 p.m., 4.30 p.m., 7.30 p.m. with screenings available at 10.30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10.30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
