A handicrafts exhibition with wide range of crafts will be declared open today (16) at Nugasevana BMICH Complex sponsored by Hands of Sri Lanka – National Arts and Crafts Foundation and presented by Sampath Crafts organisation.
The show will be opened at 10 a.m. today with five of Sri Lanka’s veteran artistes in the fields of cinema, music and literature, Professor Sangeeth Nipun Sanath Nandasiri, Professor Sunil Ariyarathne, Ravindra Randeniya, Visharada Nanda Malani and Swarna Mallawaarachchi. This is a very rare occasion where senior artistes in varied art fields are joining to support the craft sector.
Consumers can purchase crafts at highly competitive prices from the manufacturers at this show. There will be many crafts items at the market ranging from batiks, silver jewellery, pottery and beeralu lace items to masks, handlooms, rush and reed ware, wooden items and packed food, etc.
