Reuters: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi launched his book titled ‘The Kiss of Life’ in India’s showbiz city, Mumbai last week.
Hashmi’s book is based on his struggle and hardships during his son Ayaan’s tryst with cancer.
In January 2014, Hashmi’s son was diagnosed with first-stage cancer.
“That is a Wilm’s tumor. It’s a very rare case of kidney cancer that happens to a miniscule percent of kids of all pediatric cancers, roughly around 2-3 percent, and he had to be a part of that unfortunate percentage,” said Hashmi.
The Bollywood actor has co-written the book with author Bilal Siddiqui.
“I would advise everyone to go out and read this book. We have put the last three chapters which are about what you can eat and what you can avoid to reduce your probability of the dangerous disease, something which oncologist will not tell you. I have nothing against them.
They have saved my son’s life because chemotherapy was given to him. But the fact is that food does not come into their domain,” Hashmi added.
Hashmi was accompanied with his wife Parveen and son Ayaan at the launch event.
The actor said that the book will be launched in Hindi and Marathi languages as well.
