Two new movies ‘House of Gucci’ and ‘Clifford the big dog’ will be released today in several Sri Lankan cinemas.
American biographical crime drama film ‘House of Gucci’ will be screened at Liberty by Scope Cinemas, PVR Colombo 2, Milano 2 – Kegalle, Scope Cinemas (CCC) – Colombo 2, Kandy City Center – Kandy, Maxx Lite – Moratuwa and Vista Lite – Ja-Ela.
Directed by Ridley Scott, House of Gucci is based on the 2001 book ‘The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed’ by Sara Gay Forden.
The film follows Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) and Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), as their romance transforms into a fight for control of the Italian fashion brand Gucci. Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino also star. When Patrizia Reggiani, an outsider from humble beginnings, marries into the Gucci family, her unbridled ambition begins to unravel the family legacy and triggers a reckless spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge – and ultimately murder.

Directed by Walt Becker, Clifford the big red dog is based on the children's book series of the same name by Norman Bridwell. It stars Jack Whitehall, Darby Camp, Tony Hale, Sienna Guillory, David Alan Grier, Russell Wong, Kenan Thompson, and John Cleese. The film is dedicated to the memory of Richard Robinson, the former CEO of Scholastic, who died in June 2021. When Emily Elizabeth meets a magical animal rescuer who gives her a little red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant, 10-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. With her single mother away on business, Emily and her fun, but impulsive, uncle set out on an adventure that takes a bite out of the Big Apple.
