Tribute to poet Subramanya Bharathi today

Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), High Commission of India, Colombo, is organising an evening of Bharathiyar songs by Darshani Arulanandam at 6 p.m. today, 20 September, at SVCC auditorium located at 16/2, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7. 

 Arulanandam has trained under Guru such as Kalabooshanam Sathiyabama Rajalingam for over six years and thereafter also learnt under eminent Guru Jegathambigai Krishnandasivam. She completed her Bachelors of Arts from University of Colombo.

She also performed (pure classical Carnatic solo) for Sri Lanka Broadcasting Cooperation (SLBC) and also performed a Carnatic solo performance known as “Kalaiarangam”.
